Robert Martineau is a member of the Birmingham branch of the family Martineau and he set up the
engineering firm Martineau and Smith. Bessy White holds some family letters in which the company is mentioned. In 2025, she published this book on her great grandfather Arthur Toulmin Smith British Engineer in 19th Century Russia
